Can’t Skip Portugal 2019 Road Show

The Portuguese National Tourist Office (PNTO) workshops took place April 29 – May 2, 2019, in Vancouver, Toronto & Montréal.  The objective was to showcase Portugal to Canadian tour operators, media and travel industry professionals to gain consumer awareness through public relations stories, to encourage tour operators to add Portugal to their product line-up or to increase product offered where programs existed.

A delegation of thirty two organizations (hotels regional tourist boards, destination management companies, etc.) from Portugal came to Canada for these exclusive networking events. These organizations educated over 200 travel industry guests and media on their products and services plus, developed business relationships. Four airline partners participated.

The Itinerary included meetings with buyers and MICE specialists, a product marketplace, a press conference, media interviews and VIP luncheons for travel trade and media partners. The keynote speaker was the Secretary of State for Tourism – Dra. Ana Mendes Godinho.

VoX was responsible for all aspects of the workshop mission including venue selection, budgeting, creative for invites, translation, photography, audio visual, themed food and beverage planning.

The VoX team created the PowerPoint training presentations for the events. VoX managed the invitations for all trade guests and handled RSVP’s. A supplier directory in French and English was produced which included information on the partners from Portugal. VoX arranged media coverage for all events. Wrap up report produced for PNTO.

Result: New partnerships and tour packages to Portugal were developed as a result of the mission. Over $100,000 of media coverage generated.
