Case Study

Hawaii Media Fams

Hawaii Media Fam Case Study Hero Image_IMG_2200.jpg

Offering FAM trips to top-tier publications, which include two different islands of Hawai’i; by adding an additional island to each trip, journalists were able to experience entirely new activities, history, culinary fares, and an opportunity to write about a lesser known Hawai’i destination.

From the top of Maui’s highest peak at Haleakalā to the seclusion and luxury of The Four Seasons Lana’i, our June FAM offered journalists a unique experience of island hopping to witness just how diverse Hawai’i is from one place to another.

Our second FAM of the year followed an outdoor adventure theme, which had our journalists’ night swimming with manta rays, riding ATVs through a rain forest, and walking through lava veins of a dormant volcano. This took place on The Island of Hawai’i (where the group saw an active volcano) and Kaua’i (“The Garden Island”).

VoX was responsible for all aspects of these FAMs including participant selection, accommodation, airfare and itinerary.

As a result of our efforts in promoting Hawai’i, we have had featured pieces in all of Canada’s top newspapers, a cover story in Canadian Geographic, and more than 150 articles in print and online in 2017 to date.
